How we calculate this

Named formulas and clear math. Not generative AI. Written for dietitians, athletic trainers, and strength coaches who want to see how the numbers are built before they trust a roster signal.

Decision support for programs. Not a replacement for a sports dietitian’s clinical judgment.

Two layers

Calories and energy sound alike. For us they are related, and separate.

Layer 1

Daily calories

Mifflin–St Jeor BMR → activity multiplier → goal. Macros allocate from that daily target: protein by sport, fat floored, carbs filling the rest.

Layer 2

Hourly energy

Session-timed readiness from what was eaten and when, especially carbohydrate availability over hours. Not a second calorie calculator.

Caloric formulas

The same public equations you already know. Named so you can verify the math.

  • Mifflin–St Jeor

    BMR

  • Activity multipliers

    TDEE

  • Goal adjustment

    Cut / maintain / bulk

  • Sport protein anchors

    Macro split

How the split changes by sport

Strength

1.8 g/kg protein

Protein 32%Carbs 38%Fat 30%

Protein-anchored, calorie-controlled. Residual calories favor carbs once protein and fat floors are set.

You keep the last word

You set macros

Coaches and dietitians own the plan. Suggested recalibrations stay pending until staff approve.

Athletes feed the signal

Meal logs, timing, body-weight updates, and day-load context adjust recommendations for that athlete’s day.

Curve stays closed

We name public formulas and controls. The exact forecast combination stays proprietary: enough for a staff room to decide trust.
